Re: Unable to start squoop service

Master Guru
Thanks for sharing the content of the stdout - it does not indicate what the exit failure was, unfortunately.

Could you share the tail excerpts from the stderr and the server log too (both of the Sqoop2 process, obtainable via CM -> Sqoop2 -> Instances -> Sqoop Server -> Processes tab (look around the bottom of the pane), please?

Also, was the cluster updated from a previous release, or is this a brand new install? If this was after an upgrade, consider running the DB upgrade action under CM -> Sqoop2 -> Actions button list.

I am facing this exact same issue with the same error message. Did you get a fix for this?

Can you provide the log file excerpts like Harsh has mentioned. Also did you run a db upgrade if yours is an upgrade scenario?

Re: Unable to start squoop service

Cloudera Employee

Nothing in the stdout, we need to look at stderr and something like a "/var/log/sqoop2/sqoop-cmf-SQOOP-1-SQOOP_SERVER-<HOSTNAME>.log.out"

Re: Unable to start squoop service

Harsh has mentioned an easy way to get to this log file. Leverage that. Your path to sqoop server log may be different depending on your deployment.
