Hi, I have only 4 gb ram in my laptop. Can I still run hortonworks sandbox in it? I read that according to system requirement, 4 gb ram is must.

You can use, but need to change heapsize of hdfs/yarn service or have javaheapsize error (default config with only hdfs/yarn/zook use 4gb). By the way I think is not good choice, because 4 gb is minimum for work correctly, and you can deserve for vm 3gb (if you use linux, if you use windows 2gb is reserved for him :D)

Hi @Kapil Kumar
If memory on your laptop is a constraint, try using the HDP Sandbox on Microsoft Azure @ http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/deploying-hortonworks-sandbox-on-microsoft-azure

I tried a while back and it was not practical to use 4 GB. The stated minimum should be 8 GB, and honestly that is not really enough.
