@Andrew Park

Have you allocated dedicated 8GB ram to your VirtualBox instance?

On your laptop if there is already some load (means if lots of applications are opened in addition to the Virtualbox and if those other applications are consuming much CPU/Memory) then try to stop those applications and then try restarting the VirtualBox again.

my laptop Memory is 8GB then do I have to upgrade to 12GB or more?

As per the prerequisite you should allocate atleast 8GB spare RAM to be allocated to your HDP Sandbox. Which means if you have 12-16 GB of total RAM on your laptop then it will be good. Else some of the processes will not be able to start on Sandbox and might cause either a very slow startup or timeout.

Note from the above link:

Note: Make sure to allocate at least 8 GB (8192 MB) of RAM for the sandbox.

.

I will suggest 16GB of RAM on the laptop and 8GB allocated to Sandbox then that's a good combination for HDP sandbox.

Hello @Jay Kumar SenSharma

I have the exact same problem as Andrew, but my laptop has 16 Gb of RAM with 8 Gb allocated to HDP Sandbox.

I tried uninstall and install again as stated on some other forums but without success.

Thank you in advance,
