What to do when Windows hosts file under group policy control?

New Contributor

Context is Hortonworks sandbox HDP 2.6.5 on VirtualBox on Windows 7, and my employer's corporate practice is to have a group policy to define Windows hosts file. So every 5 minutes hosts file is overwritten if found to have been changed. Is there a workaround, apart from a request to corporate services for help?

Until pig scripts, have been typing "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" for URLS. But pig script engine seems to have "sandbox%.hortonworks.com" configured into it, so address resolution back to localhost s needed.
