When Cloudera QuickStart VM 6.0 will be available for download?

New Contributor

I'm looking forward to quickstart 6.0 VM with all new version of modules installed. Is there any estimate when its going to be available for download?

Is there any git repository with these images, so one can fork it and try to reconstruct its own image?

I upgraded existsing latest available Cloudera VM docker image to 6.1.0 uploaded here:

https://cloud.docker.com/u/archenroot/repository/docker/archenroot/cloudera-quickstart

Changes:

1. The embedded postgres is replaced by in image installed Postgres

2. All software is installed as Parcels, the Packages (OS) were removed

I started preparing this image mainly for CDAP integration platform, but in these days its is still not compatible with CDH 6, so I failed back to 5.13 temporarily, but maybe someone will find use for the image.

NOTE: Its quite big as I had installed almost full stack... > 20GB

Have you downloaded the latest CDH from Cloudera? Can you help me where to find it? I am still looking for downloading CDH 6.x. for VirtualBox.

Thanks,

Oscar

Has there been any announcement on this?  It seems like the QuickStarts are dead as they haven't been updated in a while.

Hello @DrOwns ,

I am not aware of a CDH 6-based version of the Cloudera Quickstart VM that was ever available for download from Cloudera, for any virtualization platform. I am reasonably sure that the last version of the Cloudera QuickStart VM available for download from Cloudera was based on CDH... (there may be, as indicated earlier in this thread, versions based on later releases of CDH available from the community).
