It should be fixed in Ambari 2.2

We think what probably happened was the connection was open for too long which is why it said there was a broken pipe when you tried to access the hive view. When you did a restart to opened a fresh connection and was able to connect. Probably just a refresh of the ambari page would have reset the connection as well.

@hkropp are you still having issues with this? Can you accept best answer or provide your own solution?

Have you found any solution? I experience it as well.

+1 I am experiencing this issue as well, without Kerberos.

Hi, I can't remember how or if I solved it 😉 but could you try to configure the Hive View with manual configuration instead of the option to get the cluster configuration? Let me know if this works. Thanks!

What I had to do was restart ambari-server to get rid of this error.

My ambari version: 2.2.1.0, problem not fixed in version 2.2.

Not kerberised.

Page refresh doesn't solve.

This works:

ambari-server restart

I too am facing this issue frequently both on HDP 2.3 as well as 2.4 cluster setups. As @R Wys mentioned, above suggested steps not working.

@Neeraj Sabharwal any suggestions, workarounds would be highly appreciated.

Ambari Version: 2.2.1.1

Thanks Amit

I'm facing issue in Ambari Version2.2.1.0 in HDP Sandbox. Restart is not working. Everything was working fine until couple of hours ago. Suddenly Hive tables disappeared from view with error. Please advise.
