Zeppelin Disconnected while using HDP 2.4.2

I've installed Zeppelin on HPD 2.4.2. The service is up and running and everything appears to be configured correctly, but when I log into the UI (via default port 9995), there's no way for me to create a new notebook (buttons are missing) and the status icon in the upper right is red (ie. showing disconnected).

I've disabled all firewalls and ports are all open. I've also tried a variety of browsers and make sure to clear the cookies.

Any idea what might be causing this? What else should I be looking at to troubleshoot this?

There are not many errors/warnings in the log, but here are a few:

WARN [2016-09-28 15:15:02,914] ({main} AbstractLifeCycle.java[setFailed]:204) - FAILED SelectChannelConnector@0.0.0.0:9995: java.net.BindException: Address already in use
java.net.BindException: Address already in use
WARN [2016-09-28 15:15:02,916] ({main} AbstractLifeCycle.java[setFailed]:204) - FAILED org.eclipse.jetty.server.Server@77b919a3: java.net.BindException: Address already in use
ERROR [2016-09-28 15:15:02,916] ({main} ZeppelinServer.java[main]:117) - Error while running jettyServer

Thanks!

Try changing Zeppelin port from 9995 to something else and restart it. Its just that something is running on 9995. on the box that Zeppelin is running just check netstat -a | grep 9995 to see what is listening on that port.

Thanks for the response, but no other service is running on port 9995 or 9996 within the cluster (so this log message is misleading). I am going to try a fresh install of Zeppelin, following/referencing these links: https://github.com/hortonworks-gallery/ambari-zeppelin-service and https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/34424/apache-zeppelin-on-hdp-242.html
