- Is it a kerberized environment?

- Is your storm service running fine ? (or do you see any error in the storm log)

- From ambari host can you access the same URL using "curl" or "wget" command? That will help us in understanding if the hostnames are properly resolving and there is no communication issue.

http://hostname:8744/api/v1/topology/summary?field=topologies

@Jay SenSharmaI am also facing same error and find the request details;

root@m1 ~]# curl -X GET --negotiate -u : -H Accept: application/json 'http://m2.hdp22:8744/api/v1/topology/summary?field=topologies'

curl: (6) Couldn't resolve host 'application'

curl: (7) couldn't connect to host

[root@m1 ~]#

@Saurabh

Please put the "Accept: application/json" string inside a quotation mark and then try again as following:

curl -X GET --negotiate -u : -H "Accept: application/json" 'http://m2.hdp22:8744/api/v1/topology/summary?field=topologies'

.

@Jay SenSharma, I still getting same error:

[root@m1 ~]# curl -X GET --negotiate -u : -H "Accept: application/json" 'http://m2.hdp22:8744/api/v1/topology/summary?field=topologies'

curl: (7) couldn't connect to host

@Saurabh

This time one error is gone that you were getting earlier as "curl: (6) Couldn't resolve host 'application'"

The new error "curl: (7) couldn't connect to host" indicates that you might not have configured the "m2.hdp22" host entry in your /etc/hosts file hence the host is not resolvable. So please make sure that the mentioned host is resolvable first from the host where you are running the curl command, Or use the IP Address instead.
