Installed ambari-shell according to great post here:

@Marek Martofel yes you can. Here's a full list of the commands, including commands for starting and stopping individual services.

Hello @Henry Sowell actually, I can't find good example of how to stop particular service. It's available to start and stop ALL services at once by:

ambari-shell> services stop

ambari-shell> services start

ambari-shell also 'understands' service stop and service start but does the same.
