cant stop ambari service

cant stop ambari service

we create new service in ambari cluster - graphite

we cant to stop the service as the following

click on services button

click on graphite service

click on service action --> stop

but service not reacted to the stop button

from the log we see the following:

INFO [ambari-client-thread-30] AbstractResourceProvider:529 - Received a updateService request, clusterName=HDP100, serviceName=GRAPHITE, request=clusterName=HDP100, serviceName=GRAPHITE, desiredState=INSTALLED, credentialStoreEnabled=null, credentialStoreSupported=null

how to check/comntinue from this point ?

From the given log it shows:

desiredState=INSTALLED,

Was the service in START state before you are stopping the services?

you can check the proper status of the service from Ambari DB tables: hostcomponentstate and hostcomponentdesiredstate.

yes the service was start before I try to sop it

from Ambari DB (default postgres) you can look for the tables hostcomponentstate (column name current_state) and hostcomponentdesiredstate ( column name desired_state ) tables, will give the current state of the service.

select id,component_name,current_state  from hostcomponentstate;

select id,component_name,desired_state from hostcomponentdesiredstate;
