cloudera manager admin console won't start or is inaccessible via http

I checked netstat -anp | grep 7180 to see if port is open.

It was listening, then I tried http://0.0.0.0:7180 and it worked. http://quickstart.cloudera:7180 is not working

Re: cloudera manager admin console won't start or is inaccessible via http

Super Guru

Hi, sounds like a network issue on the host.  What is the output for the following:

cat /etc/hosts

hostname -f

netstat -nap |grep 7180

and

ifconfig

Regards,

Ben

Hi Ben,

I am having the exact same issue, cannot hit the CM login using public DNS or IP on port 7180.

  1. iptables stopped
  2. SELinux disabled
  3. curl/wget localhost:7180 works
  4. security groups are correct
  5. cloudera-scm-server is running and listening on port 7180

For your questions below:

  • /etc/hosts/ only has the localhost entries
  • hostname -f returns my private EC2 hostname
  • netstat -nap | grep 7180 returns
    tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:7180 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 2380/java
  • ifconfig returns my private IP address

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jason

Re: cloudera manager admin console won't start or is inaccessible via http

Super Guru

@Shafeeq,

Thanks for posting.

I'd recommend starting a new thread so that we can take a look at your individual issue.

The first thing we need to know is what you are trying to do, what you expect to have happen, and what actually happens.

That will give us a good start understanding what you face so we can make recommendations.

Hi,

I too had same problem faced today , the CM GUI was not coming up , when i was trying to access with <IP>:7180

i had bounced the server and db couple of times but didn't get through

1-> cloudera-scm-server.log - no errors

2-> netstat -anp | grep 7180 - LISTEN

No I have searched & suspected for the firewall, IPtables so

a-> service iptables stop

Redirecting to /bin/systemctl stop iptables.service
Failed to stop iptables.service: Unit iptables.service not loaded.

 came to know iptables not loaded into my machine

b-> yum install iptables-services  -- successfully installed iptable services

c-> Now started the Iptables and firewall

d-> Just retried the <IP>:7180 -- no luck

e-> now disabled the Iptables and firewall

[root@master ]# service iptables save
iptables: Saving firewall rules to /etc/sysconfig/iptables: [ OK ]
[root@master ]# service iptables stop
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl stop iptables.service
[root@master ]# chkconfig iptables off
Note: Forwarding request to 'systemctl disable iptables.service'.
[root@master ]# service iptables status
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status iptables.service
● iptables.service - IPv4 firewall with iptables
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/iptables.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: inactive (dead) since Sun 2019-03-17 22:47:16 IST; 22s ago
Main PID: 12163 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)

NOW TRIED THE CM GUI <IP>:7180  hurry its started :)
