cloudera manager installation path C

Explorer

Dear All,

I am installing Cloudera Manager via path C tarball on ubuntu LTS

I have created a system user cloudera-scm

So when I start admin wizard where I need to specify hosts , it also asks for user - does the cloudera-scm user needs to be specified there?

If so it needs passwordless sudo access - can passowrd less sudo be given to system account cloudera-scm if so how ? being a system system account I am not able to login as cloudera-scm OR after logging on as another interactive user I am not able to su to cloudera-scm to do generate the ssh keys as cloudera-scm .

Am I missing something? please help

Thanks

Regards

Re: cloudera manager installation path C

Hi,

The wizard is asking for a user that can ssh into those machines and install software. It does not need to be the same as the user for the Cloudera Manager process, and usually is a different user. For example, you could have Cloudera Manager run as cloudera-scm, and install software using root.

Thanks,

Darren
