Found answer to this problem When you setup the new virtual machine, instead of hitting "New" and doing the setup using .vmdk file.
Use File -> Import appliance and then select .ovf file

Latest virtualBox v5.0.16 may not be working properly with CDH5.5

Importing ovf file in VirtualBoxv5.0.16 is able to start the quickstartVM

I didnt try with import .ovf file, but it works for you great

I guss the issue is with the latest virtual box version, it may not compatilble with cloudera version 5.4 and 5.5.

So herei have used below combination. And it works for me.

1. VirtualBox-4.3.24-98716-Win
2. cloudera-quickstart-vm-5.4.2-0-virtualbox-disk1

Thanks,
