elasticsearch backup not working

elasticsearch backup not working

Master Collaborator

i am making a backup on the nfs share and it does create the directory on each share and I get an acknowledge but all the directories are empty .
The "ash" index is open and has 166,000 + records

$curl -XPUT 'hadoop1:9200/_snapshot/ash_bck' -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{
"type":"fs",
"indices":"ash",
"ignore_unavailable":"true",
"include_global_state":"false",
"settings":{
"location":"ash",
"compress":"true"
}
}'
{"acknowledged":true}

@Sami Ahmad

First check the status of your snapshot. It going to take a while to run and complete.

GET /_snapshot/_status

Did you register your repository in Elasticsearch?

Did you also add your path to your repository in elasticsearch.yml -> path.repo ?

Change your location in your json to use full qualified path of your nfs mount point path. For example, if your NFS mount is /mnt/ash

would be

"location": "/mnt/ash"
