tried most of the solutions , posted in the forum, nothing worked.. tried installing psutil python file, cannot resolve this issue..
is there a way to cleanly wipe and fix the issue?

Can you try the below after a backup?
rm -rf /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/resource_monitoring/psutil/ find / -name ambari-metrics-monitor | xargs rm -rf yum reinstall ambari-metrics-monitor
