I following the instruction to install ambari 184.108.40.206 without internet
so i have finished all download/upload following 4 files. they are ambari.rep, ambari.tarball, hdp tarball and hdp-utils tarball.
1. download/upload ambari 2.2 repositories to /var/www/html, untar
2.download/upload ambari tarball to /var/www/html, untar
3. downloaded and uploaded HDP to namenode and mv to /var/www/html/hdp then untar
4. downloaded anduploaded HDP-UTILS to namenode and mv to /var/www/html/hdp untar
I like to double check to see if I miss any files I need and if any file is unnecessary.
then I can untar and start to ambari-server setup.
Good start. Now you still need to follow the instructions at http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-220.127.116.11/bk_Installing_HDP_AMB/content/_getting_start... for setting up a local http server daemon, and validating that you can browse to the untarred repository files. It appears you will follow the doc thread for "Setting Up a Local Repository with No Internet Access", not the thread for "Setting Up a Local Repository with Temporary Internet Access".
Then you edit the ambari.repo file with your custom repository Base URL and put it in the right place in your ambari server host, as described in http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-18.104.22.168/bk_Installing_HDP_AMB/content/_preparing_the...
Then you'll be ready to start installing.
@Robin Dong Hey I am also working on installation of hadoop using ambari without internet. Could you please guide me on this? I have seen all the link mentioned in above posts and have downloaded all the repos as well.Do I need to explicitly install apache web server? If possible, can you share the steps you have followed to install ambari without internet.
@malvika pande, you dont need to explicitly install apache web server. after untar all these files.
so, after these 2 steps, it is kind of a local Internet to you.
you should be able to 'yum install ambari-server', 'ambari-server setup' then 'ambari-server start'
then http://your_ambari_server_ec2_ip:8080 will lead you to ambari installation.
I have untarred the packages(ambari,HDP and HDP-UTILS) at /var/www/html and /var/www/html/hdp respectively.
Now am running apt-get install ambari-server and am getting an error ' Unable to locate package ambari-server'
Also I tried editing the ambari.list with below text:
Then tried apt-get install ambari-server am getting error as
Reading package lists... Error! E: Type '[Updates-Ambari-22.214.171.124]' is not known on line 3 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ambari.list E: The list of sources could not be read. E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
If you could suggest anything!!
