Your error indicates that after Livy installation when ambari tried to start it and check whether the "livy.server.port" (8998) is accessible or not? then it failed with the connection failed error:

Connection failed on host hdpslave2.hdp.hadoop:8998
.
.
ExecutionFailed: Execution of 'curl -s -o /dev/null -w'%{http_code}' --negotiate -u: -k http://hdpslave2.hdp.hadoop:8998/sessions | grep 200 ' returned 1.

.

This may be because the Livy service did not start successfully. So it will be good to check the livy logs to see of you noticed any error there? If it is a kerberized environment then also please check if the Livy keystore was generated properly or not and if you are able to list the principals and are able to do kinit properly or not?
