not able to install older version of cloudera manager

not able to install older version of cloudera manager

New Contributor

Hi,

I want to download older version of CM(5.7) . what I  did is

downloaded URL : http://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/installer/latest/cloudera-manager-installer.bin

then edit it to 5.7.2 : http://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/installer/5.7.2/cloudera-manager-installer.bin

then this installer bin got downloaded , but when i installed, I found its the latest one, not the older one which i wanted.

I tried it several times, but same thing happened.

please advise as my client wants CM 5.7.2

Thanks

Debi

HI Debi,

The cloudera-manager-installer.bin file will always install the latest version of CM.

You could follow the manual directions for PAth B https://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/5-7-x/topics/cm_ig_install_path_b.html

But you would still have to, assuming your hosts are CentOS 7, edit the /etc/yum.repos.d/cloudera-manager.repo file to look like this:

[cloudera-manager]
# Packages for Cloudera Manager, Version 5, on RedHat or CentOS 7 x86_64
name=Cloudera Manager
baseurl=https://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/redhat/7/x86_64/cm/5.7.2/
gpgkey =https://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/redhat/7/x86_64/cm/RPM-GPG-KEY-cloudera
gpgcheck = 1

You need to point to the /5.7.2/ directory.
