I've installed a single user mode cluster and wanted to notify you that some roles' configs don't allow changing their dirs from /var/*.
The two roles I've had problems with:
1. oozie (installation is done into /var)
2. httpfs instance (It's looking for server.xml under /var/lib/hadoop-httpfs/tomcat-deployment/conf/server.xml)
Would love it if someone from Cloudera would have a look at it, the Single User is a new feature so I'm sure it will pop up for more clients in the future.
The docs state that there are a few services that require the paths exist in /var:
Could you help us understand the use case for making this configurable? Is there something preventing you from using the /var location?
Thanks for pointing that out.
The idea was to create a filesystem dedicated to the cloudera-scm user and not worry about permissions, have everything in one central location and avoid the need to pre-create and configure these directores.
i deploy a new cluster using single mode user and i follow http://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/latest/topics/install_singleuser_reqts.html
i am using Installation Paths B (Packages) using cloudera manager wizard.
i create the directories
/var/lib/hadoop-httpfs , /var/lib/oozie with chown cloudera-scm and both of the server(oozie, httpfs) still down
i paste some log
+ exec /usr/lib/hadoop-httpfs/sbin/httpfs.sh run août 17, 2016 4:30:16 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina load AVERTISSEMENT: Can't load server.xml from /var/lib/hadoop-httpfs/tomcat-deployment/conf/server.xml août 17, 2016 4:30:16 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina load AVERTISSEMENT: Can't load server.xml from /var/lib/hadoop-httpfs/tomcat-deployment/conf/server.xml août 17, 2016 4:30:16 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina start GRAVE: Cannot start server. Server instance is not configured.
any ideas please???
