sqoop command in oozie shell

New Contributor

Hi,

I tried by calling sqoop command in shell and the shell is called from Oozie.  But its failing and I am getting the below error.

Failing Oozie Launcher, Main class [org.apache.oozie.action.hadoop.ShellMain], exit code [1]
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.hadoop.metrics2.impl.MetricsSystemImpl).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
log4j:WARN See http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/faq.html#noconfig for more info.

Is it possible to call through shell or any change is required.

Calling through the shell would require quite a few modifications to the environment before it could completely work (in some scenarios). It is better to use the dedicated Sqoop action for this task.

If you'd like to continue investigating the shell failure, try rerunning it with export HADOOP_CONF_DIR=/etc/hadoop/conf set, and also share your full failed launcher task logs here.
