storm: Start the storm service on sandbox

Hi,

I'm trying to follow the Storm tutorial. The tutorial expects the storm service to be running on the Hortonworks VM.

http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/processing-streaming-data-near-real-time-apache-storm/

However ambari is telling me its not running. I've tried following the Hortonworks docs on the subject but I'm too much of a novice to understand the directions.

https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.3.2/bk_upgrading_hdp_manually/content/start-sto...

Thanks,

Gary

Are you logged into the sandbox as "maria_dev" or "admin"? You need to be logged in as "admin" to start and stop services.

Follow the instructions here on how to configure the initial admin password for the sandbox.

Once you have re-set the password and logged in to Ambari as admin, you should now see a 'service actions' pull-down in the upper right hand corner, and under that should be an option to start the service.
