Hi all,
I am exeperiencing swap memory usage notifications for the service components like HDFS,hive,Yarn, hue, hbase, oozie, mapreduce, zookeeper in cloudera manager console.
swappiness value across the hosts in the cluster is set to 10.
Please provide your inputs to get rid of these.
Thanks,
Priya

Those will be just warnings, you can supress them or else if you dont wannt any such warning to popup, you can set the parameter for alert in the configuration on Cloudera Manger.

Hi Priya,
We understand that you had set the swappiness value to 10.
But Cloudera recommends that you set vm.swappiness to a value between 1 and 10, preferably 1, for minimum swapping.
The higher the value, the more aggressively inactive processes are swapped out from physical memory. The lower the value, the less they are swapped, forcing filesystem buffers to be emptied.
Thanks
AK
