Please make sure that the New Host has correct Hostname mapping to resolve ambari server hostname and can connect to port 8441 & 8440 of ambari server.

So please check the following on the Newly Added Host:

1. If the "/etc/hosts" file has correct entry.

# cat /etc/hosts

2. Please check from the newly added host if it can connect to ambari server hostname & ports

# nc -v ambari.sozcu.com.tr 8441
# nc -v ambari.sozcu.com.tr 8440
(OR)
# telnet ambari.sozcu.com.tr 8441
# telnet ambari.sozcu.com.tr 8440

.

below command proves spark1 might access to ambari server

i have executed command on spark1

wget https://ambari.<name>.com.tr:8441/agent/v1/register/ambari.<name>.com.tr --2018-04-20 13:52:32-- https://ambari.<name>.com.tr:8441/agent/v1/register/ambari.<name>.com.tr Resolving ambari.<name>.com.tr (ambari.<name>.com.tr)... <IP> Connecting to ambari.<name>.com.tr (ambari.<name>.com.tr)|<IP>|:8441... connected. ERROR: The certificate of 'ambari.<name>.com.tr' is not trusted. ERROR: The certificate of 'ambari.<name>.com.tr' hasn't got a known issuer. The certificate's owner does not match hostname 'ambari.<name>.com.tr'

besides, according to ambarti agent log, problem is related with python. what is your opinion?

After adding "force_https_protocol=PROTOCOL_TLSv1_2" conf security option to ambari-agent.ini in spark1, now we can connect to ambari server, however we're receiving error message below :-(

ERROR 2018-04-24 08:52:55,664 Controller.py:190 - Cannot register host with not supported os type, hostname=spark1.<XYX>.com.tr, serverOsType=debian9, agentOsType=debian9

debian9 is not supported i guess, any suggestion?

Regards.

Yes, Even the latest version of ambari is supported on Debian7 only. (Debian9 is not in supported OS list)

https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.6.4/bk_support-matrices/content/ch01.html

Please check if you can use the tested or certified configuration.

Do you know any method that we show debian9 OS server as it is debian7 to ambari, in order to have a succesfull installation with a debian9 server, instead of installing a brand new debian7 server?

Actually every operating system that is supported to be used for ambari server./agent installation is controlled by this file:

https://github.com/apache/ambari/blob/release-2.6.1/ambari-common/src/main/python/ambari_commons/res...

Ambari takes various decision while installing /starting stopping components based on the OS_Family. So i do not see any easy option to make Debian9 to work with a minor change.

For long term usage it will be always recommended & Suggested to use the tested & certified version else we might have to rollback everything at some point later.
