unable to access amabari or hadoop using putty, any help please ?

Hello Friends,

I set up HDP 2.5 sandbox for VM, launched Ambari URL. I connect to same host/port from putty using default root/

hadoop user/pwd. But it didn't ask me for password change. Also when i hit " hdfs dfs -ls ./ " , it says " -bash: hdfs: command not found "

Note: i am able to login to Ambari server via browser, view all the services/hosts/dashboard ... etc

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Venkat

Super Mentor

@Venkatanaidu Gullipalli

Please make sure that you do ssh to Sandbox as following and then try the hdfs commands: (On port 2222) password "hadoop", no other port.

# ssh root@localhost -p 2222
root@localhost's password: hadoop

.

Can you open the "http://localhost:4200" web terminal?

While using "putty" as well you have an option to define port (2222) while doing ssh, so please use this port option.

Hi @Jay SenSharma

Thank you, port 2222 in place of 22 helped me to get it worked fine.

best regards,

Venkat
