want to decrease block size in HDP ambari , what are the parameters i need to change in ambari GUI

can you please advise if we need to change any other parameter apart from changing dfs.blocksize in HDFS config
any other suggestions are also welcome as long it helps in saving space in block and not wasting any block space
also do we need any change on DataNodes side also ?

thanks for confirming , so what i wrote is correct that is changing dfs.blocksize . restart anyways will happen

@ripunjay godhani .You only need to change that parameter and save the configuration.
Ambari would request you to restart components post which, the change would be effective.
Note: This would only impact size of new files written to HDFS.

@ripunjay godhani, you can change the mentioned parameter size in byte and it will then allow you to change block size for new data.
You are asked to restart all affected service components after this to take it into the impact.
