what's best practice to integrate ambari metrics with datacenter wide ganglia & nagios infrastructure ?

For deployments that use ganglia & nagios for datacenter level monitoring, how can one integrate with ambari metrics for a single overview of hadoop and non-hadoop nodes and services ?

@ajaysingh - to clarify this question a bit ... are you looking for how to send notifications from Ambari to Nagios? If that is the case, then I'd follow the instructions in the Ambari User Guide for Configuring Notifications to create groups of alerts in Ambari and setup SNMP notifications to Nagios for those groups.

I am afraid Nagios in the hortonworks perspective was replaced by Ambari. But if you want to integrate Hadoop nodes and service to you existing Nagios monitoring deployment please see this document basically the setup isn't different from a clasic Nagios/Icinga setup with host ,groups

When Ambari introduced Ambari Alerts (back in Ambari 2.0), we provided some high-level guidance on options to integrate with enterprise Nagios (via the Ambari REST API).

And of course, as mentioned in previous posts, you can use notifications (such as SNMP or EMAIL) to integrate.
