zookeeper on vm in a physical server

zookeeper on vm in a physical server

Expert Contributor

hi,

i have a physical machine which has namenode and zookeeper installed, because of fsync write delays zookeeper is timing out and i have been having namenode failovers very frequently. I planned to move the zookeeper to a separate dedicated disk in the same machine... would you suggest it to be a physical disk or can i just mount a vm drive ?

If your vm can drive can deliver the required throughput it should be fine.
