The Oozie service cannot be reached

When I am trying to connect WebHDFS (Oozie Web UI) outside the cluster, I am getting the following error

"java.lang.Exception: The Oozie service cannot be reached, check the host name and port.".

But the same is working when I ran my program within the cluster.

Can someone help me why it is unable to access oozie web UI from outside of cluster

Re: The Oozie service cannot be reached

Hi Swetha,

Can you ping the Oozie server from the remote host? If yes, what does Oozie server log complain about the error?

The error reported in Oozie server log might be helpful here.

Cheers

I am unable to find any errors in oozie server log but Stilll I am getting same error.

I have migrated to  Cloudera 6.1.1 version , from then I am getting the issue.

I had unlink 3 jars .

unlink ./jetty-runner-9.3.20.v20170531.jar
unlink ./javax.servlet.jsp-api-2.3.1.jar
unlink ./javax.servlet.jsp-2.3.2.jar

And restarted Oozie but the problem still appears. Can someone help me to resolve the issue

Re: The Oozie service cannot be reached

Hello Swetha

1. WebHDFS and Oozie WebUI are separate components. Which one are you failing to connect to ?
2. if you are not able to connect from outside the cluster to inside, but connecting from within the cluster is working, then it is most likely a networking/firewall issue that is blocking connections.

Re: The Oozie service cannot be reached

I am dealing only with Oozie Web UI and also I am getting the issue after migrating to CDH 6.1.1

We have moved from Cloudera 5.12 to Cloudera 6.1 in our application. After migrating to Cloudera 6.1, getting the error like Oozie service cannot be reached.

Done few steps to resolve but none helped like

1) Unlink few jars

unlink ./jetty-runner-9.3.20.v20170531.jar
unlink ./javax.servlet.jsp-api-2.3.1.jar
unlink ./javax.servlet.jsp-2.3.2.jar

2) Download ext-2.2 zip and copying to /var/lib/oozie and Restarted Oozie,

All these didn't help.

I am unable to access Oozie webUi from Cloudera Manager

http://******:11000/oozie

No error is Found in Oozie server log.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Re: The Oozie service cannot be reached

Hi,

Can you take a screenshot of the Oozie UI page? You mentioned you are unable to access it, what error did you get?

Can you also share the commands you used to access Oozie URL?

Do you have SSL/TLS enabled for Oozie?

Thanks
Eric
