unable to install cloudera quickstart VM 5.4.2 on Windows 8.1

I am not sure why I keep getting soft lockup - cpu#0 stuck for 67s when the VM is loading on Virtual Box. I can't get past this issue for some reason. Is it an issue specific to WIndows 8.1 may be ?
