Has anyone had success using the Cloudera Director Bring Your Own Nodes (BYON) plugin example to provision clusters on private virtual hypervisors such as VMWare or KVM or possibly even OpenStack?

I'm curious to hear how successful the effort was and what level of effort was involved. I noticed that the example above indicated it was not production-complete.
