Recently deployed CDH 5.8 on AWS using  Director.  Two versions of the jdk are downloaded [jdk1.6.0_31, jdk1.7.0_67-cloudera], unfortunately the symbolic link points to the outdated version.  I say outdated as I think it is HIVE or HDFS that has been compiled with the more recent version. 

While it is easy to change the Java Home or the symbolic link "latest" to the correct version, how come the deployment does not perform this activity?
