Hi @karthik_1984 , To my knowledge, Cloudera won't be providing any upgraded VMs. Therefore you would have to update your installation to support Spark 2. The installation instructions are here: https://docs.cloudera.com/documentation/spark2/latest/topics/spark2_installing.html Regards, Steve

Hi @mikejeezy ,
You shouldn't remove the HDFS component but you can stop the HDFS service in the scenario that you describe.
Please refer to the documentation here: Configuring Kafka to Use Sentry Authorization
Sentry requires that your cluster include HDFS. After you install and start Sentry with the correct configuration, you can stop the HDFS service.
Regards,
Steve

Hi @Mondi , CDH 6.3 is the last major version of CDH. CDP is the new distribution from Cloudera which effectively replaces CDH. CDP is designed to run on-premises (like CDH) but it is also a cloud-native technology that can be run in the public cloud. CDP is also designed to support hybrid and private cloud architectures. There are also some differences in the open-source projects that are supported in each of these distributions. You can compare these with the links below: CDH 6.3.3 Packaging Cloudera Runtime Data Center7.0.3 If you are starting a new initiative I recommend that you start with CDP as this is the latest generation of technology from Cloudera. Hi @Amn_468 , I'm not sure what is causing this issue. Do you have an enterprise support agreement with Cloudera and able to open a technical support case with us? Regards, Steve

Hi @Amn_468 , Kudu masters don't serve or store data, so the rebalance tool will rebalance data across all of the tablet servers where the data are stored. You don't need any downtime to run the Kudu cluster rebalance tool. Regards, Steve

Hi @Mondi , Yes, small files can still cause an impact in CDH 6.3.3. This has nothing to do with the version of Cloudera but the way that the Namenode and HDFS interact when a lot of small files are stored in HDFS. Lots of small files create a lot of metadata that the Namenode must store and manage in memory. To understand more about the impact of small files in HDFS and how to manage this, please refer to this article: https://blog.cloudera.com/small-files-big-foils-addressing-the-associated-metadata-and-application-challenges/ Regards, Steve

Hi @pky You can get the kubeconfig from your CDP environment configuration. I'm hoping that this Community article might help you with your query: https://community.cloudera.com/t5/Community-Articles/Cloudera-CDP-Data-Warehouse-Monitoring-How-to-get-the/ta-p/284436 Regards, Steve
