Happy to recommend Attunity Replicate for DB2. Need to deploy Attunity AIS onto the source server as well when dealing with mainframe systems though, but the footprint was minimal (after the complete load has happened, Replicate is just reading the DB logs after that point). Have used with SQL Server as well (piece of cake once we met the pre-requisites on the source DB) and IMS (a lot more work due to the inherent complexities of hierarclical DB e.g. logical pairs, variants but we got it all working once we'd uncovered all the design 'features' inherent to the IMS DB's we connected to. Can write to HDFS or connect to Kafka but I never got a chance to try them (just wrote csv files to edge node) due to project constraints alas

@yjiang according to the SAP VORA install doc (see pg 12) http://help.sap.com/Download/Multimedia/hana_vora/SAP_HANA_Vora_Installation_Developer_Guide_en.pdf you can use 2.3 with RHEL 7 but SAP only supports Spark 1.4.1 or 1.5.2.

Having 4 environments including development, testing, pre-production/staging and production in a Big company would be good for best practices because in staging we can make sure that all are working properly. Of course the dev, testing and staging environments are smaller than planned production. For instance, if I take 2 nodes in dev, testing and staging then we can have a almost 8 nodes in production and again it's always depends on replication, traffic, and other relevant facts. Thanks!

I wanted to know couple of things here. 1) Suppose I've few map reduce jobs and they need to be run on the HDI. What I understand from HDI approach, it is for build, run and delete. If I've placed all my jars, oozie jobs, configurations on the cluster and if I delete them today. In future if I want to run the same batch job, do I need to copy all the jars, re configure the oozie jobs? 2) Is it possible to configure Solr run on HDInsights?
