Try starting/stoping services services from Ambari UI. screen-shot-2016-05-24-at-73650-am.png And then go to link to see the commands Ambari executes. screen-shot-2016-05-24-at-73759-am.png

@gu weisheng Hortonworks currently as per latest HDP release i.e. HDP2.4.2 distributes and supports Hue2.6.1. http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.4.2/bk_HDP_RelNotes/content/ch_relnotes_v242.html So, if you are planning to use Hue with HDP, it is recommended to stick to hue2.6.1 for supportability. But if you still want to use Hue3.0, you can refer below. http://gethue.com/hadoop-hue-3-on-hdp-installation-tutorial/ and you can refer below to get tarballs and release notes for Hue3.0. http://gethue.com/hue-3-and-the-new-sqoop-and-zookeeper-apps-are-out/ And here is spec file from BigTop for Hue3.9. https://github.com/apache/bigtop/blob/master/bigtop-packages/src/rpm/hue/SPECS/hue.spec

@Radhakrishnan Rk Yes, you should be able to point multiple Hue Servers to same database unless it is default SQLite i.e. MySQL/Postgres/Oracle. And then configure your loadbalancer i.e. haproxy/httpd/nginx etc. for the same. Note: I am assuming multiple Hue Servers are for load balancing purpose i.e. One Hue server supports max 50 concurrent transactions. And in this case, ensure that you have same config setup i.e. ldap etc. for all Hue Server instances.

@simran kaur You should suffix your target-dir name with date (example - rather than naming target-dir emp_snapshot, name it emp_snapshot_05132016). And then on next run, once you have updated copy of data, remove old one. It should be straight-forward. Additional benefit would be that you will know from name when last snapshot completed and was imported.

Yes you can @Hemant Kumar Dindi.. You can do this by registering service, services components and hosts using Ambari APIs.

Below are the steps you should perform to add/use multiple Knox Gateways. 1. Add Knox to the host, go to Ambari, then to hosts tab, select the host on which you want to add a new Knox instance, click on the add button and select Knox. 2. Configure Loadbalancer i.e. haproxy for Knox Loadbalancing.

@Harshal JoshiThis is a usual problem and what I would recommend is to have a larger volume mounted for this different than root partition i.e. /opt and then configure Ambari Metrics Service to use /opt i.e. change directories from /var/lib/ambari-metrics-collector to /opt/ambari-metrics-collector. This can be done easily from Ambari UI --> Ambari metrics --> Config . In terms of deleting older files, delete those as soon as you have configured AMS directories to use different volume other than root i.e. /opt and restarted the service. Other option is to use distributed mode following below instructions and then remove old files but still you will have AMS logs filling up root partition. So, you should anyways move to /opt for log and data directories for AMS. http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.1.0.0/bk_ambari_reference_guide/content/_configuring_ambari_metrics_for_distributed_mode.html

@Elitsa Milanova yarn.nodemanager.resource.cpu-vcores are by default ~80% of total vCPUs available on the machine. Ambari internal script picks this default config based on this calculation AFAIK. But it may not always be the best practice depending on what other non-yarn components you are running on the machine, OS requirements etc. These default configs are starting point for you and will need tunings/changes depending on use case, workload requirements, cluster/host(s) specifications.

Yes you are correct, database setup has to be done by user unless using default embedded postgres database.
