I'm new to this. Just trying to establish datapipeline unfortunately each time cluster entity giving error and these error are not helpful. Could you please elaborate steps so that it will be helpful to me and like me many other users. Thanks

Thx @bsani We have sat HA on our name nodes while we don't want the cluster to be unawailable. So is there a best practice for doing patching on a cluster that is supposed to be available 24/7. How to avoid rebalancing during patching When upgrading datanodes in chuncks, is there a way to make sure that replica of a data block is available on one of the servers alive /Claus

Yes it can do Inserts, but it turns out that they're RBAR updates. We may try SIMBA drivers to see if they improve the performance (allow batching) but we are in the meantime moving ahead with Inserts via Access -> SQL Server -> Hive via Sqoop.

It is easy to override default hdfs properties like replication factor or HDFS block size at time of directory creation.

Add the following variable to the yarn-log4j configuration via Ambari export YARN_ROOT_LOGGER=DEBUG,RFA Be careful, this will fill up the Resourcemanager log with a lot of details 🙂

You can run smoke test script via command line to see if timeout value causing service check to fail ? (one of the possible cause) Run below command as ambari-qa user: source /usr/hdp/current/oozie-client/conf/oozie-env.sh ; /usr/hdp/current/oozie-client/bin/oozie
