Hi, we have installed a "Kafka only" cluster on CDH 6.3 along with ZooKeeper, SMM, Sentry and SchemaRegistry.  During the cluster install, Sentry (from what I can remember) was dependent on HDFS being present.  Now that the cluster is online, does anyone know if it's safe to remove HDFS?   Thank you,  Mike ... Hi, we have a couple of brokers that need to be life-cycled out.  We have reassigned all topics to the other brokers in the cluster and Stopped the Kafka role on that host.  To totally remove it, is it as simple as choosing the Instance and then from the Action Menu -> Delete?  CM -> Kafka -> Instances -> (choose instance) -> Actions Menu -> Delete I don't see a "Decommission" option like with a Datanode.  Anything need to be done in ZooKeeper or does the "Delete" option handle that?  Thank you! ... Hi, one of our developers needs to run pig scripts, access HDFS, run mapreduce on the CDH5 cluster from a remote machine.  I'm a little confused how to accomplish this.   Do I need to add the remote machine to the cluster using the "Add Host" feature?  I also read that I should make the remote machine a "Gateway", then download (deploy?) the client config files to that host.  Am I on the right track?  Thank you.  -Mike ... Hi, does anyone see a problem with collocating the following roles (assuming sufficient RAM on the VM)?   Server A Hive Gateway Hive Metastore HiveServer2 Oozie Sqoop 2   Server B Hive Gateway Hive Metastore HiveServer2 Impala Catalog Impala StateStore (not sure if I need Hive running on both?)   Server C Hue All 5 Cloudera Management Services   I have a separate MySQL VM hosting the "amon", "hive", and "impala_catalog" databases.  The above does not include the 5 DataNodes and 2 NameNodes which are separate physical machines (also containing ZK, JournalNode, Impala Daemon, YARN, roles).  Suggestions?  Thank you .   Mike ...
