Hi, You don't need to reinstall everything. There is provision to configuration service/role of Service Monitor (or any new role/service) you wanted to configure. To install and configure Service Monitor go to "Management Services" service than click on Instances tab. Instances tab page is having Add button in it. You need to click on that Add button and follow the steps to configure Role/Services for installation and configuration of Service Monitor which has been missed somehow during your installation. Do let me know in case you need further help on same.

By default namenode port is 8020. You need to check your configuration and check fs.default.name property in hdfs-site.xml to get your exact port configured for heartbeat. Default port information for different services you can get in below link: http://blog.cloudera.com/blog/2009/08/hadoop-default-ports-quick-reference/

Hi Vikram, If you have installed Impala with Cloudera Manager, use Cloudera Manager to start and stop services. Because CM UI can start services in a group and it takes care to start all impala services (i.e. impala-server, impala-state-store, impala-catelog) in its correct order. Also if you wanted to start impala services as an startup action of cloudera manager, you can find information on same in below link. http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera-content/cloudera-docs/Impala/latest/Installing-and-Using-Impala/ciiu_config_options.html?scroll=config_options_cm_unique_1

Hi Bogolese, Try to modify "MapReduce Client Environment Safety Valve for hadoop-env.sh" with values for HADOOP_CLASSPATH and HADOOP_TASKTRACKER_OPTS and don't forget to deploy configuration on client nodes from cloudera manager web UI. When you fire deploy client configuration command configuration will get loaded on each node and your job will get latest configuration on each node without any issue.
