@vaishaakb I noticed this same activity after deploying to the latest version of CM and after deploying parcels in my Lab cluster. I started getting P2P violations from my IDS and IPS. Is there any way to control the external p2p process? I've gone ahead and attached screen captures from my firewall. CDP - 7.1.9-1.cdh7.1.9.p0.44702451 - CM - 7.11.3 Example of the detection: All 5 of my nodes repeatedly trying to talk across the globe.

Hi, It looks like it's a bug in Cloudbreak when you don't attach volumes to the instances. It can be configured when you create a template on the UI. We'll get this fixed.

Ambari is currently not managing the backup of Ambari Infra. You will need to use the mechanism describe in the article to backup your environment. It seems that the backup API - let you write directly to HDFS <backup>
<repository name="hdfs" class="org.apache.solr.core.backup.repository.HdfsBackupRepository" default="false">
<str name="location">${solr.hdfs.default.backup.path}</str>
<str name="solr.hdfs.home">${solr.hdfs.home:}</str>
<str name="solr.hdfs.confdir">${solr.hdfs.confdir:}</str>
</repository>
</backup> If you automate the steps - feel free to share them back 🙂

I would say go with 256 gb ram. but 128 is def do-able and often seen in the field. Go with Dual 10Gbps NIC. I would go with at least 12-2TB drives broken down into 2 OS drives with raid-1 mirror. 6 drives in raid-10 (metadata) 4 spare drives

@Sunile Manjee We ran into a similar issue with a customer. To clean up you need to do the followin Stop all services and run the cleanup script https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Host+Cleanup+for+Ambari+and+Stack python /usr/lib/python2. 6 /site-packages/ambari_agent/HostCleanup.py
You have elected to remove all users as well. If it is not intended then use option --skip "users" . Do you want to continue [y/n] (n) Run the above on each hosts. Next you would want to do a ambari reset and follow the steps that Scott mentioned.

There are namespace level quotas for number of tables and number of regions, and request throttling per user as documented in: https://hbase.apache.org/book.html#_running_multiple_workloads_on_a_single_cluster There is no table size limiting using quotas as of now. However, the maxTable, maxRegion limits are not released in Apache or HDP yet. Request throttling can be used in HDP-2.3+. Enis
