@jzhang could you check the value of hive.metastore.kerberos.principal in hive-site.xml. It should be something like - hive/_HOST@<YOUR REALM>.

@Rohit Khose Hortonworks is focusing on bringing entreprise grade software. As such, Hortonworks only ships software which has been released as GA by the community. Currently, the latest HBase stable as per the community is 1.2.4. Following the release of HBase 2.0 as GA by the community, you should see it land into HDP.

@Attila Kanto , by default, it will go to HS2 on port 10001 - you can create a new ambari view in the custom section pointing to 10501.

Ambari is currently not managing the backup of Ambari Infra. You will need to use the mechanism describe in the article to backup your environment. It seems that the backup API - let you write directly to HDFS <backup>

Great article "PS: only jdbc/odbc clients can use initialized Tez AM, hive cli (command line) or other external hive components don't use initialized Tez AM." Beeline is also able to use initialized containers. Hive cli can't as it is bypassing hs2.
