Check with HDFS user $sudo su - hdfs $hadoop dfsadmin - report (from out put verify the list datanodes available) which node is is listing or not verify go to log directory #cd /var/log/hdfs/datanode.log It will give you some more information of issue. if help full your comment and accept are appreciated

i have faced the same issue, for this Java up-grade is not required. Just intall the openssl package and run installation host registration went fine. 1) from vm connect to the internet 2) Install the opnssl package #yum install openssl if it installed fine, you can proceed with host Registration . it worked for me.

For connecting the internet on VM , you have to be in Brigde Network. 1) Check are you able to ping the host from vm ware, reverse dns should be enabled 1) look at default gateway 3) update same ip address for the gateway , use "wget" once work is done ,you can switch to NAT.

Please check like this for Checking your server is connected to internet ot not. #ping current_hostname (if it responding cancel it) #ping www.google.com ( verify server is respoding with bytes or not ) if you getting number of by then your internet is working. If you as below, means you do not have internet connection. $ ping www.google.com ping: unknown host www.google.com
