The username is changed to maria_dev, and also I can't find the admin tab for enable kerberos. Is there any way to get the admin permission to enable kerberos ?

The user behavior in the sandbox was changed due to security considerations. User maria_dev is the default user for running tutorials and is read-only ( cannot affect services in ambari ).

The admin user is still present however the password has changed and needs to be reset from inside the sandbox VM by using the #ambari-admin-password-reset command.

Hi Jzhang,

You will have to login as admin in Ambari, then click on Admin > Kerberos.

You can also go to the Sandbox splash screen localhost:8888. And then click on the advance button and it will also provide an outline on how the process to update the Ambari admin id.

There is also a intro to the sandbox tutorial called Learning the ropes

http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/learning-the-ropes-of-the-hortonworks-sandbox/

This also walks you through the process of updating the Ambari Admin pwd.

The easiest way to do it:

Just log in to the Ambari using these credentials:

User: admin

Pass: 4o12t0n
