hive datatypes vs java datatypes

hi,

I'm rather new in hive. With a background in BI the sql part is rather easy, but I'm still struggling with the java side. One thing I'm losing a lot of time on are the objecttypes we need to use in an UDF for certain hive datatypes (using GenericUdf).

I'm looking for a conversion table that maps hive datatypes to javadatatypes. Anyone has a link to something like this?

Re: hive datatypes vs java datatypes

The best reference to internal Java data types to use in UDFs would be to look at the SerDe mapping source: https://github.com/cloudera/hive/blob/cdh4.5.0-release/serde/src/java/org/apache/hadoop/hive/serde2/...
