I have lots of generated hprof files in /tmp.

As mentioned in the KB article above reply, the root cause of this issue is highly suspected to be JVM Pauses on the Reports Manager, which is a part of Cloudera Management Services.
Did you get to review/try the changes mentioned in the above KB article?
As a Best practice, I am also referring a Public Documentation
