Riz, there are some who have tried. You can take a look at this https://gist.github.com/rampage644/4e24ee5014d3d6d8bee8. Of course, it will be unsupported. Install may get easier as Impala is moving to ASF. https://adtmag.com/articles/2015/11/18/cloudera-donates-projects.aspx
