HDPCD Java practice exam - cannot run MR job

For the practice exam, I was trying out a simple MapReduce word count program to check if everything's working.

But the MapReduce jobs are not running. Their status on the namenode is UNASSIGNED, even after waiting 10 minutes.

Has anyone else faced this problem?

Can you please check on your resource manager UI if all the nodemanagers are up and in healthy state? First login to Ambari UI and check if your YARN services are up and running fine then check above thing on resource manager UI.

Yes, I already checked the Ambari UI, and everything was up and running. I had to stop and restart the practice exam's VM, now it's working..

Had to stop and restart the practice exam VM, it is working now.
