How does Amazon EC2 Enhanced Networking impact HDP clusters hosted on AWS?

avatar

Amazon offers Enhanced Networking on certain EC2 instance types. Are any benchmarks available to compare performance with and without this feature? Can it cause any issues, or is there anything to be aware of when configuring this for a VPC used to host an HDP cluster?

The only thing that I can think of is cost. More information

Do I need to pay an additional fee to use Enhanced Networking?

No, there is no additional fee for Enhanced Networking. To take advantage of Enhanced Networking you need to launch the appropriate AMI on a supported instance type in a VPC

VPC and R3, C3, D2, and I2 instances support Enhanced Networking
