Is G1GC supported for HDP production deployments?

Now that the Garbage-First garbage collector is fully supported by Oracle, have we seen anyone using it for production clusters? Is it officially supported by Hortonworks when using Java 8?

Yes, it is supported with HDP. I have deployed it in production for HBase for a couple of large customers in recent past.

@Alex Miller I have reviewed internal HWX jira and G1GC is not supported.
