Moving CM Services to a new node

I wanted to move the CM Services (amon, rmon etc.) to a new node without moving the CM Server. Is there another way than stopping, 

deleting the existing services before adding them to the new host?

Not that I'm aware of.

If you want to keep all your data you also need to move the data directories for some of the components to the new server.

Yes, I had to move the directories under /var/lib to the new host as well.
