The image is not yet available for a direct download, so Docker Hub is the place to get it right away: https://hub.docker.com/r/cloudera/quickstart/

Has the docker image as tar.gz been made available yet ? 

I am going by the blog post which says

   "You can also download the image from the Cloudera website."
