cloudera agent doesn't mount cm_processes

I have 5 red hat 6 vm's that are all clones of each other.  one of them doesn't mount cm_processes when i start the agent.  I get no errors, but when i do a deploy of config to all nodes this VM alsway returns failed.  not sure what to look at next

Which logs have you looked at? Seems to me if you start the agent manually on that node:

# service cloudera-scm-agent start

you should get some notice on the mount failure.

Re: cloudera agent doesn't mount cm_processes

Thank you for the reply.  I was lookiong in the agent log file; which did not contain any errors.  I did finally find the issue.  I had a typo in my sudoers file granting the cloudera-scm user sudo access.  It still doesn't mount, but the agent is working properly now.  A reinstall of the agent with sudo set up properly I am guessing will fully resolve the mount issue.

Re: cloudera agent doesn't mount cm_processes

It makes sense to me the process doesn't log an error in raising the privilege. Be nice if it did, but if tried to catch every such possibility it would be one very long script...

If correcting this issue doesn't fix the problem I'd be curious to hear it.
